13 Signs You Need Help With Your PTSD

Sometimes it’s hard to admit we need help with PTSD.

Most people think if you admit you need help it makes you weak, broken, or “damaged”.

Believing this will cause you to do nothing about your pain…

You’ll wait…and wait…and wait…

You get no help, and things just get worse and worse.

You’ll spiral down further and further until you feel like the only thing you can do is give up all together.

How do I know this?

Because I’ve been there.

And I did just that.

Admitting that I needed help (to myself) was one of the hardest things I ever did.

It took my 15 years of PTSD before I was able to put my ego aside and conjure up enough willpower to get help.

But it was the biggest turning point of my life.

Getting help doesn’t mean you put on a grand event and tell the world.

It just means that you start taking care of yourself.

And help can be found in many different forms.

Here are some examples you can get help for your PTSD…

You admit to yourself that you need help for everyone that you love (which includes you).

So here are 13 signs that you NEED help with your PTSD….

1 – You’re always anxious, jumpy, twitching, or “on edge”

I was anxious and filled with fear 24/7.

I would jump at noises, loud and quiet…

Even small sudden noises like shuffling paper, or the wind gusting would make my heart skip a beat and jump out of my skin.

It’s a horrible feeling…

If you’re constantly on edge, waiting for something bad to happen then that is a telltale sign that you need help…that’s not a fun life to be living.

2 – You have nightmares and flashbacks

If you’re living with PTSD flashbacks and nightmares then you absolutely need help.

Here’s why…

I lived with constant nightmares and flashbacks for most of my life…

Once I accepted I needed help, I was able to get rid of my flashbacks and nightmares in under 1 month. [Click here to learn how I did it]

If you have flashbacks and nightmares, and you’ve had them for longer than a month, then you need help.

Because if you don’t you’re essentially choosing to live in hell even though you have a ladder to climb out of it.

Don’t put yourself through any more unnecessary pain…

If I knew what I know now I would have saved 15+ years of my life.

3 – You get extremely angry at your loved ones

A very common sign of PTSD is angry outbursts that you cannot control.

You get angry at the people you love, but you don’t know why…

And the worst part?

The soul crushing guilt that you feel afterwards.

You don’t know why you’re screaming at your loved ones, but yet it seems like there’s no way to stop it.

It’s not your fault that you’re angry…

You’re not a bad person, you’ve just been really hurt.

That’s why this is a big sign why you need to get help with your PTSD.

The fights can stop, the anger can stop, and you can actually have a loving calm relationship again.

4 – You have suicidal thoughts and feel like ending everything

Suicidal thoughts come up when you’re experiencing so much pain, but don’t have a solution.

It’s not that you want to end everything, it’s just that you don’t have a solution to heal the pain.

There is a solution for all the pain you’re feeling right now.

There is a way to end and heal it for good.

But it takes you accepting help.

I’ve been suicidal, and I’ve helped countless others come back and eliminate these thoughts for good.

I promise you there is a solution.

5 – You’re career is suffering

Maybe PTSD has gotten so bad that your career is suffering, or even worse, you’ve lost your job.

There was a point in my life where I let my PTSD get so bad that I literally lost 3 jobs in 3 months.

When you’re consumed with all the negativity in your mind from the past, it’s hard to function, and even harder to focus on your work.

If your job is suffering, or you’ve lost jobs due to PTSD it’s time to seek out help.

6 – You feel like a failure

Oftentimes when you have PTSD you stop doing all the things in life that make you feel fulfilled.

You stop working, stop exercising, probably have an awful diet, and you just feel like your entire life has gone down the drain.

You feel like you’ve let everyone down…and that you’ve let yourself down.

The thing is…you haven’t let anyone down.

Again, you’ve just been really hurt, none of this is your fault.

But now it’s your responsibility to fix…it’s your life.

And the first step in fixing it is by seeking help.

7 – You dull, numb, and run from your pain

Alcohol, food, TV, gambling, or any other addiction can be formed or used to numb the pain of PTSD.

When we feel so much pain in our lives many times our first instinct is to numb it so we don’t have to feel it.

It may feel “good” to numb the pain at first, but it really just makes everything a whole lot worse.

The pain always comes back, and with a vengeance…

And when it does come back, you numb it more and more and more…until you’re completely out of control.

You basically walk around in an unconscious body and turn into a zombie.

We tend to run and numb because we have no other solution, but there is a solution.

If you’re running from the pain, or using numbing behaviors then it’s a big sign that you need help.

8 – You’re not sleeping…ever

If you have to drug yourself every night just to get some sleep then you need help.

If you’re nights are filled with PTSD night terrors, fear, and anxiety, then you need help.

If you’re only sleep is after your body passes out from sheer exhaustion, then you need help…

Sleep is vital for your life, and if it is being compromised it’s a huge sign that you need help.

9 – You isolate and stop doing things you enjoy

When we feel that intense fear of PTSD it’s hard to do anything at all.

Everything that we used to do is now too terrifying to even attempt.

The fear overwhelms us and causes us to run away and isolate from everything.

Family events, going shopping, hanging out with friends…everything.

Isolation is a very common symptom of PTSD, and if you don’t find a way to fix it fast, it will effectively take over your entire life.

10 – You feel overwhelmed, drained, and can’t get anything done

Sometimes the fear, anxiety, worry, and everything is so high that it feels like your brain is fried.

It feels like your system has just short circuited and you feel drained, numb, and like you’re not even living in reality anymore.

This again, is a big sign to get help because when this can disrupt major parts of your life.

You don’t have to feel like you’re living life numbed, overwhelmed, and drained.

11 – You’re hopeless, directionless, and don’t know what to do

Many times PTSD comes as a shock…

You’re not expecting it to happen to you, and don’t know anything about it or how to fix it.

This leaves us feeling directionless…

And when we feel directionless, we don’t do anything.

We take no action, and get no results…so things get worse and worse until you feel absolutely hopeless.

When you’re in this state you need help and a clear step by step roadmap to get out.

12 – You’ve tried on your own and have made little to no progress

Maybe you’ve gone to therapy, taken medication, and just gave up on life because you feel like you’ve tried everything.

When there’s hundreds of types of therapies, conflicting data online, and no clear path to follow things feel pretty hopeless.

You try and try and try, but get nowhere.

This usually happens because there are very few people in the world who actually know how to make a full recovery from PTSD.

Many people just think in terms of coping and managing the pain, instead of healing it for good.

I helped a woman who was in this position.

She went to doctor after doctor, tried all sorts of medication, and was told that she had tried every therapy known to man.

Nothing was working for her, and her doctor even said that she would have to live with PTSD forever.

Luckily, I was able to connect with her and show her the right path.

She went from being bed bound 7 days a week to getting out of the house every single day and actually living her life.

And she said that it feels incredible to be living a normal life again…

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve had PTSD, or what you’ve tried and failed at…you can heal.

Want to learn how she was able to make that incredible recovery?

And how she was able to heal and start living her normal life again?

13 – You believe that full recovery from PTSD is impossible

Doctors, therapists, coaches, and “experts” might have told you that PTSD is something you have to live with forever.

That you can cope, but never heal.

That you can never live a normal life again.

I’m happy to share this with you because…

They are all wrong!

This is by far the most harmful and detrimental belief to people trying to recover from PTSD.

There is a path to full recovery.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve been through, or how hopeless you feel — you can recover and live a life of peace…

  • You can feel completely and utterly calm and relaxed with yourself and the people around you.

  • You can go to bed and sleep through the night every single night.

  • You can stop fighting with the ones you love and actually start showing them how you really feel.

  • You can mend broken relationships, and mend broken hearts.

I’ve made a full recovery, and thousands upon thousands of others have too.

Don’t let the so called “experts” poison your mind…

Because if you let them it could mean the end of everything you love.

It makes me really sad because there are so many people destroying all hope for recovery.

You need to live your life off a strong internal compass.

Never let anyone tell you that you can’t recover.

Never give up on trying.

Always get up one more time and you will win.

I believe in you more than anyone on this planet.

You know why?

Because I know with 100% certainty that if you are willing to do whatever it takes to heal, you will succeed.

No matter what anyone else says or does, you will win.

I’m living a life that doctors, therapists, and other professionals said was impossible….

  • I have zero flashbacks
  • I have zero night terrors
  • I have zero anxiety
  • I saved my broken relationship with the love of my life

I am living an impossible life, and so will you.

You are going to defy all the naysayers and non-believers…

You are going to transcend all disbelief and become someone unbreakable.

I believe in you — maybe I’m the only one, but I do.

Because I know how broken people can get…and I know how they can be fixed.

  • It’s time to change your ever present scowl to a jovial smile
  • To bring your tortured soul peace
  • And to fill your shattered heart with love
